How to Get Sponsored Posted on Tuesday, May 7th

Getting Sponsored: The Holy Grail

You might have be the best back player in the world, surrounded by the best teammates you could possibly wish for. You guys click with each other, play to each others strengths, and cover up each others weaknesses. You guys are unstoppable. Unfortunately, you guys can’t afford to play tournament paintball on a professional level. Most people can’t. The cost of paint alone is more than enough to drive most people to bankruptcy, let alone the cost of transportation, lodging, food, and tournament entry cost. Let’s not factor in the opportunity cost of practicing (meaning you can’t be working if you’re practicing for the next tournament).

So you have this great idea of finding a sponsor. You and the other 5000 teams out there. How do you differentiate yourself? How do you actually FIND a sponsor?

If you own a website that you think should be recognized as a new best, go to BestPaintballWebsites.com. This is a website I created to use PbGuns.com as a way to shine light on websites that are buried on the Web. I know as a webmaster it can be hard to gain attention with all of the competition, so this is an opportunity to show of your paintball website. I’ll determine if it’s the best or not :)

The Redz Ion Body Kit Posted on Saturday, May 4th

Ion-body-kit

Redz is releasing a nice-looking body kit for the Smart Parts Ion.

Not everyone has every upgrade that Redz makes for the Ion.  So Redz decided to release a limited-edition Ion – crammed with everything Redz has made in the past.

First, they incorporated the Redz Ion Body Kit, the only kit (aside from Smart Parts’ color kit) that includes a body, regulator shroud, and grip.  Red, Blue, White and Olive are the available colors.

The Redz Ion has all of the upgrades from their “Hard Partz collection, including:

Triggerz – Lightweight delirin trigger, dual ball-bearing, 4–way adjustable, flat or 2–finger style.

Ion Bolt – Get 300+ extra shots from your tank with less kick and greater accuracy

Cam-Lock Clamping Feed Neck – This will literally “bite down” on your hopper so you never have an embarrassing moment when your hopper falls off on the break.

Pepper Stick Barrel – Supposedly a great barrel that has “supreme accuracy”.  I’ve never shot it so I can’t testify.

ASA + Rail – Let your marker breathe, or bleed it out without having to shoot it down.

(Available early – mid December 2006)

Sweet Spot Your Regulator Posted on Friday, May 3rd

Now we all know the less air you use the more shots and better consistency you get. This is a quick guide to help you get the most of your fills…

What you need:
- Gun
- Air (Co2 or N2)
- About 200 paintballs (1 hopper)
- Allen wrenches (different guns use different size wrenches, so just get a set of all sizes)
- Chronograph (for fine tuning)
Sweet Spot Regulator

Step one
Turn your velocity all the way out. Then turn it two turns in.

Step two
Turn your regulator and LPR (if you have one) as far out as possible

Step three
Slowly turn the reg up a quarter turn then take two or three shots, make note of your velocity

Step four
As soon as the velocity starts to go down then turn the reg back 1/8 and your set to go

*NOTE* To time the LPR on a cocker, you hold down the trigger so the back block is back then turn it until it hits the cocking rod, then just turn it like 1/4 turn after that to be good.

Intimidator Cleaning & Maintenance Posted on Tuesday, April 2nd

Intimidator

Most would agree that Bob Long’s Intimidator marker line is one of the best in paintball. However, one of the downsides to the Intimidator is its high maintenance. Cleaning can be a drag, but it needs to be done. We’ve put together and published the Timmy Tech Cleaning and Maintenance Guide. We believe this guide will safely walk you through those tedious maintenance and cleaning days for your gun.

Enjoy.
